Last night, Friends from Cardiff and the region attended an interfaith vigil in Cathays Park to mark the beginning of the Extinction Rebellion (XR) demonstrations that will be taking place over the next few days (Monday-Wednesday in Cardiff).
Demonstrators will be calling on governments – local and national – to take the necessary action to address the climate crisis humanity faces.
Ben Misell and Anne Hosking gave readings from Advices and Queries (17 and 42), with time for silent reflection. We heard from many people of different faiths expressing a shared understanding of our stewardship of the earth, our unity with all of Creation, our love for all peoples, and our need – as humanity – to take action now to avert the climate crisis.
Cardiff Quaker Meeting House will be open for Meeting for Worship on Monday 15th -Wednesday 17th July, 12.00- 12.30, for Friends, XR activists and supporters.
A space for quiet reflection in turbulent times.
